Christmas Wish
All is silent as I lay in bed
Thoughts of Christmas fill my head
A time to share with the ones we love
These are not the ones that I am thinking of
Sleep escapes me as I think about
So many people that live without
Clean fresh water and food to eat
The young and the old who sleep on the street
Men and women who live all alone
Families whose lives by war are torn
Those who live each day with disease
Those who in life no longer believe
My wish for the world on this Christmas day
Is that we all come together and find a way
To live in harmony and for hatred to cease
To care for each other and to live in peace.
